The British Safety Council has announced the winners of their International Safety Awards for 2012, given to organisations in recognition of their proven commitment to workplace health and safety. WEP:HSE LTD, OD FORMWORK LTD, INDEPENDENT LIFT SERVICES LTD AND B&B ITALIA CELEBRATE HEALTH AND SAFETY – 2012 INTERNATIONAL SAFETY AWARD WINNERS!

The International Safety Awards scheme, now in its fifty fourth year, is open to all organisations of all sizes across all industries and seeks to promote high standards of health and safety management practice in order to prevent workplace injury and ill health. WepHSE, Independent Lift Services, OD Formwork and B&B Italia award winners have demonstrated to the judges their commitment and determination to prevent workplace injuries and work-related ill health.
Winning organisations span all sectors from across the United Kingdom, Middle East and India. This long-established award has this year been won by 550 organisations. 125 gained a distinction, 348 attained a merit with 77 other organisations securing a pass.
Announcing the results Alex Botha, chief executive of the British Safety Council, said, “We send our warmest congratulations to all 550 winners. Over the last year I have had the opportunity to meet with the managers and employees of a number of the winning organisations and have been struck by the commitment and dedication they have shown to managing health safety in a proportionate, sensible and effective manner.

Winners had the opportunity to celebrate their success at the British Safety Council’s awards banquet at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London on Friday 18 May. Distinction winners who attended were presented with their awards before an audience of their peers and VIPs.

The application process for the 2013 International Safety Awards will begin earlier than previous years and will start in September 2012.
To achieve the vision of the British Safety Council they are working with members to improve and raise standards of both individuals and organisations through their training, auditing, awards, events and membership support.
